July 4, 2022: Starting next week (July 11th) we will be relaxing mask mandates for the rest of the summer. For the rest of July and August face masks will not be required in the club as long as no one in attendance has informed the club that they or a close relative would be at serious risk if possibly exposed. In that instance we would need everyone in the club area while the at risk person is in attendance to follow the current USFA protocol which has relaxed mask mandates allowing fencers the option to drop their face mask under their fencing mask but requires everyone to make sure they have one mask on at all times – either a face mask or fencing mask (we will provide disposable masks in case this occurs). Please contact the club directly if you wish to be considered an at risk individual.
We also ask that anyone who believes they may have been exposed within 10 days of attending a class/bouting session wear a mask while in the club. Anyone who is Covid positive is still asked to follow our Covid Positive Protocols (see below).
In order to make sure we don’t overcrowd the area we will still be limiting the number of participants in classes and bouting sessions and ask that anyone not fencing try to stay out of the club area if possible.
We will be monitoring the USFA for their policy once the next season starts and will post and changes that will happen to this policy.
As always thank you so much for your patience and understanding!
COVID POSITIVE PROTOCOLS
1. For anyone who has received a Positive Covid test result
- Please refrain from coming to the club for a minimum of 5 days since your positive test (so if you test positive on a Wednesday it would be considered five days on Sunday and the soonest you could return would be on Monday)

If symptoms develop within those days
and you are fully vaccinated
- and take a test no less than 5 days after the positive test which is then negative you can resume fencing 3 days after symptoms cease ( 7 day minimum)

We understand that this will mean you may miss classes you have paid for. If that is the case please let us know and we will rebook for you once you can resume fencing so that we can apply a credit from the missed class/bouting session.
If any of the coaches test positive every effort will be made to find someone to cover the classes/bouting and to find an alternative time for missed private lessons while we observe the above protocol. If there is no one to cover classes efforts will be made to at least keep bouting sessions going. If there is no one to cover these the club may have to close for the effected days. We don’t think that will happen however since we have a nice group of volunteers spread throughout the community who can be guilted into helping us out if necessary 🙂 If we do need to cancel any class/session then booked spots will be cancelled and notification will be sent to anyone who had booked a spot, a notice will be posted on the website and effected class/session(s) will show up as unavailable on the booking site
